Blog Traffic Report And Goals – May 2015

After reading through several blog reports from my favorite bloggers, it hit me that I’ve never made one myself! At least, with the intent of it being a blog report. I love getting a behind the scenes look into another blogger’s stats; it really puts things into perspective and gives me a reason to congratulate them on their growth! With the extensive amount of free time I have over the next few months, I have a lot of things I want to accomplish with this blog and some extensions I’ll be adding on soon, so today I’m going to give you a look at my own traffic report, as well as my goals for June.

TRAFFIC REPORT

I love how Lauren at Elle & Company compares the two most recent months in her traffic reports and looks at what areas improved, so I’ll be doing the same with April and May.

APRIL 2015

Sessions: 25,562
Users: 23,171
Pageviews: 31,596

MAY 2015

Sessions: 35,961
Users: 31,597
Pageviews: 42,427

My numbers have been increasing immensely since the beginning of the year, but specifically when I switched over from Blogger to WordPress. I think a combination of the switch, the hype I created around that and my redesign, as well as my focus on creating more useful and SEO-friendly content were the causes of this growth. I’ve also been trying to connect more with my followers on social media, and I’ve had some fantastic readers share my content across multiple platforms, so thanks y’all!

It seems like my how-to posts gain the most traffic, which is no surprise after seeing the results of my reader survey. I noticed that these were also the posts that my readers shared the most, usually along with their success stories! Oh, and one of my all time favorite bloggers shared my post yesterday #eeeeep!

SOCIAL MEDIA STATS

Like I mentioned earlier, I’ve been putting more focus into my social media presence recently, and that effort showed up in both my blog traffic and social media followings. I’ll definitely be keeping this up!

Twitter: (+18)
Instagram: 692 (+72)
Pinterest: 1,017 (+236)
Bloglovin’: 502 (+75)
Facebook: 214 (+4)

I’ll be honest, I really don’t enjoy Facebook much, so I’m not too surprised by the minimal growth there. Pinterest, however, is my all time favorite platform, and it’s also where I post organically the most. I think that combination of pinning for my blog and for fun kept my feed active, allowing for consistent growth.

GOALS FOR JUNE

1. Create an editorial calendar for the summer. Most of my posts tend to be last minute ideas that I write up at 11pm, so basically, I don’t plan at all. I’m hoping to use these three months to post more often and get some great content scheduled!
2. Launch my Etsy shop. I’m BEYOND excited for this one! I’ve been wanting to open a shop for months, and everything is finally coming together! My goal is to have it open next Tuesday, June 9th, so mark your calendars!
3. Clean up my resources page. The Collection is my version of a resource library, and I want to start promoting it more. I’m not sure how I’ll do that yet, but I’m brainstorming!
4. Create a newsletter. I’m not entirely set on this one yet, but if everything else comes together, a newsletter would be a great way to promote shop items and new content!

Goal Sessions: 42,000
Goal Pageviews: 50,000

I’m thinking about making this a monthly thing, so is this something you would like to see? Oh, and if I do make a newsletter, what’s something you would like to see in it? Downloadable worksheets? Extra content? I’ll consider anything!
